Digifundus selects Commit; EIS as their workflow system

03/22/2010

Digifundus, a leading provider of diabetic retinopathy screening and follow-up services in Finland has selected Commit; EIS as their core workflow system. Operating in 12 healthcare districts in over 130 municipalities all over the Finland, the company’s service domain currently covers around 1.6 million people. Digifundus’s services range from imaging, specialist reports, diagnostics and follow-ups, to data transfer to customers' information systems.

Commit had already successfully deployed a system in the country for mammography screening that was similar to what Digifundus wanted. Based on this, the fact it was an Internet browser-based solution without firewall restrictions and had a pay-as-you-use service pricing model were key factors when the healthcare company decided to select the solution.

Digifundus can now provide a completely paperless and highly automated service to its customers. The eye specialist reports and eye images are either delivered from the Commit EIS service or transferred automatically from the central server to the end-customer’s hospital information system and picture archive. The system has also enabled Digifundus to make other processes more efficient, allowing it to provide additional services to its end-customers.
